Global breadth, India depth

A database the size of the market. Resolved, not resold.

We assemble the graph ourselves from public and licensed sources, then resolve and keep it fresh in house. That is why coverage is this wide and the price is not ZoomInfo money. India is where we go deeper than anyone.

India coverage is rated exceptional. We ingest the statutory registries directly, the layer global tools never built.

What we cover

One graph, four layers, every field dated.

Companies and the people who run them, worldwide. Built bottom up and resolved in house, not bought from a reseller. The India export layer is one nobody else has.

01

Companies and people

86.4M companies, 312.0M people

Firmographics, decision makers, verified emails and direct dials across 207 countries. In India: CIN, GSTIN, IEC, Udyam, PAN, directors and DINs, linked across identifiers and name variants.

Source: Public and licensed sources

How we source it lawfully

Registry-first. Provenance per field. Lawyer-reviewed.

We ingest only data made public by legal mandate or published by the company itself, from official registries worldwide. Every field carries its source and a verified date, and our sourcing is reviewed against GDPR, CCPA, and India's DPDP Act before ingest.

What we do ingest

  • Statutory company registries (SEC EDGAR, Companies House, ACRA, MCA21, and peers)
  • Official business and tax registration records
  • Public customs and trade filings, where published
  • Company-website content from the company's own domain (self-published)
  • Public company-page firmographics on professional networks (self-published)
  • Licensed third-party datasets, recorded as licensed

What we will not do

  • No inbox-harvesting browser extension. Ever.
  • No scraped personal mobile numbers. Phase 1 omits this entirely.
  • No scraped personal emails not self-published by the individual.
  • No autonomous cold-email blaster. Kestrel surfaces data, you act.
  • No contributory scraping that uses customers to collect contacts.
  • No data from sources that block us in robots.txt.

What we ship from day one

  • Provenance on every field, with source name and verified date.
  • Public /optout page. Access, correction, erasure within 30 days.
  • A field-by-field data sourcing policy (public).
  • A grievance officer with named contact.
  • Per-source scraping policy, robots respected, rate limits per source.
  • Audit log of every admin action against your records.
Trade intelligence

Cross-border trade signals firmographic tools do not have.

Apollo, ZoomInfo, Cognism and Crunchbase stop at firmographics. None of them attach shipment-level customs activity to the company record.

Kestrel ingests public customs and trade filings across markets, attaches them to the company graph, and emits four kinds of trade events:

  • 01First export. Company files its first shipment ever.
  • 02New destination. First shipment to a country not previously served.
  • 03New product line. Company starts shipping an HS code it has not before.
  • 04Volume surge. Quarterly trade volume up materially against the trailing baseline.

For logistics, banks, freight forwarders, and trade-services firms, these are the highest-intent buying signals anywhere. India trade data is where we go deepest.

Built for

Five teams, one underlying graph.

B2B SaaS

For SaaS sales teams.

Filter by industry, geography, employee band, recent funding, hiring signals. Push to HubSpot, Salesforce, or Zoho. One database for the whole pipeline, not a different tool per region.

Agencies

For agencies prospecting at scale.

Save filters, share lists across the team, push to CRM, monitor signals on accounts you have proposed to. Credits are cheap, signals are cheaper than your account-research time.

Lenders, fintech

For lenders and risk teams.

Registry status, director networks, charges and liens, trade activity. A first-pass file for any business credit decision, with a source on every field. License the dataset for offline scoring.

Logistics, trade services

For logistics and trade-services firms.

First export, new destination, new product line, volume surge. The signals that tell you which company is shopping for a forwarder, a customs broker, or a forex line right now.

Expanding into new markets

For teams entering India and beyond.

Coverage that finally matches what your local SDRs actually need. Provenance and freshness on every field, so the data they paste into Salesforce holds up under audit.

For global teams

The India coverage your global stack is missing.

Apollo, ZoomInfo and Cognism each top out near 120 thousand Indian companies. Kestrel covers 1.89 million, with export intelligence none of them have. Billed in USD or INR, resident in India.

Why now

B2B data decays the moment you buy it. We built the opposite of that.

There are tens of millions of companies worth selling to, across hundreds of statutory registries that each speak a different format and change every day. Most data vendors sample the easy markets, resell a stale snapshot, and hide where it came from.

Kestrel does not sample. It ingests the official sources directly, dates every field, surfaces buying signals, and stays inside the lines drawn by GDPR, CCPA, and the DPDP Act. The same posture that makes it lawful is what makes it useful: when every record carries its source and a verified date, the CRM your sales team feeds it into stops decaying within a quarter.

We treat data provenance like infrastructure. We treat the trade-intelligence layer like the moat it is, with India coverage no one else matches. We treat the data-rights pipeline like a feature, not an afterthought. That is the whole company.

Questions

Frequent, real, honest.

Is this legal under the DPDP Act, 2023?+

Yes. Phase 1 ingests only statutory-public data (MCA21, GSTN, Udyam, DGFT, ICEGATE) and data made public by the data principal themselves (company websites, public LinkedIn pages, IndiaMART/TradeIndia listings). Both categories are explicitly carved out by DPDP Section 3(c)(ii). Every field carries the source and legal basis used. The policy is reviewed by an Indian data-protection lawyer before each source goes live.

Why do you not have personal mobile numbers?+

Because personal mobile numbers are personal data under DPDP and they are not made public by legal mandate or by the individual on a registry. Scraping them creates a liability we will not carry. Phase 2 will add a person-contact tier, but only via consent or licensed sources, with opt-out and erasure plumbed in.

How does this compare to Apollo, ZoomInfo, Cognism, Lusha?+

Their India coverage tops out at roughly 80 to 200 thousand companies, mostly the IT and BPO segment. Kestrel covers all 1.89 million active companies, ingests four to nine signal types daily, and adds an export-import intelligence layer none of them have at the shipping-bill level. We do not provide scraped personal mobiles, and we are honest about that.

How fresh is the data?+

MCA21 statutory filings flow in weekly. GST taxpayer data and Udyam refresh monthly. DGFT and ICEGATE feeds run weekly. Self-published sources (websites, LinkedIn) refresh on a 30-to-60-day cycle per source. Every record carries last_verified_at, and signals-relevant fields are re-verified monthly.

How do credits work?+

One credit per company lookup, one credit per signal export, ten credits per account brief. Credits reset monthly with your plan. Top-ups available at Re 1 per credit. Free plan gets 25 credits per month. Saurav, the super-admin, has unmetered access during the pilot.

Can I license the dataset for offline use?+

Yes. Lenders, NBFCs, banks, logistics platforms and trade-services firms have licensed similar datasets from Kestrel. Pricing is negotiated, delivered via S3 or VPC. Includes a DPA, indemnity, and audit rights. Email hello@kestrel.in.

Where is data hosted? Who has access?+

Data resides on Hostinger VPS in Mumbai (Postgres 16, Redis 7), with nightly pg_dump backups to Backblaze B2 (encrypted). Access is restricted to the super-admin and named engineers (audit-logged). The admin panel is IP-allowlisted via Nginx. No third party gets bulk dataset access without a signed DPA.

Do you respect robots.txt?+

Yes. Every scraper carries the user agent "Kestrel/0.1 (+https://kestrel.in/data-policy)" and reads robots.txt before each fetch. Sources that disallow us are removed from the catalog. We rate-limit per source. Per-source scraping policy is on the data-policy page.

What happens to my CRM data?+

You connect HubSpot, Zoho, or Salesforce by OAuth. We write to standard objects you authorize (companies, contacts, deals). We do not read your CRM beyond what you scope. You can revoke at any time from /app/settings. Connector logs are visible in your audit log.

How do you handle opt-out and erasure requests?+

Any data principal can file a request from /optout without an account. We verify identity, locate matching records, redact or remove the regulated fields, log evidence, and respond within 30 days. The DPDP queue is on the admin panel, the SLA timer is enforced.

Are you GST-registered? Where do I get an invoice?+

Yes. GSTIN appears on every Razorpay invoice. Invoices are auto-issued and downloadable from /app/billing. We are registered in Odisha (123 Innovations Studio Pvt Ltd). HSN code 9984 (information services).

What is on the roadmap?+

Q3 2026: WhatsApp signal alerts (template-based, opt-in only). Q4 2026: Phase 2 person-contact tier (consent or licensed only, opt-out plumbed in). 2027: NBFC credit-scoring add-on (MSME first-pass), industry-specific signal packs (pharma exports, textile exports, IT services hiring).
